Beylerbeyi was initially the residence of the Governor General in charge of Anatolia, but was rebuilt in the style of Dolmabahce and Ciragan palaces as a royal palace in the between 1861-1865 on the Asian side of the Bosphorus. Except for that , the palace was well known its fabulous gardens ;
Previously, named as'' Istavros Gates'' because of the symbol of the cross erected by Great Konstantinus in that field, the beauty of Beylerbeyi Set Gardens have caused a splendid construction since Byzantine period.
