PASAOGLU MANSION AND ETHNOGRAPHY MUSEUM
Pasaoglu Mansion and Ethnography Museum is located at the centre of the city, Ordu on Boztepe Road. This glorious structure was built by Pashaoglu Hüseyin Efendi well known as richest and noble person in Ordu (Army in English) in 1896. It emphasizes the Ottoman famous history both its architecture and the materials belonging to period hence, the magnificent building provides to the visitors a slice of Ottoman Life. Whenever they come into here, the tourists make a historical journey thanks to the vital ambiance of the mansion.
HISTORY
At the beginning it was used as a mansion but later it was turned into a very special museum; expropriated in 1982 by Museums of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture and the General Directorate of Historical Works, Pasaoglu Mansion restored in 1983. It was opened to the public to be used as Pasaoglu Konagi and Ethnography Museum on 18 November 1987 when the restoration and exhibition preparations were finished.

ARCHITECTURE
This legendary building has a substantial stonemasonry which is among the registered works. It covers the area of 625 m2 together with the garden. The stones of this amazing mansion were come from Unye, district of Ordu while tiles and the wooden parts of the building were brought from Romania. Various craftsmen from Istanbul contributed to its construction.
Moreover, this marvellous museum with three storeyed including the ground floor reflects 19th century Ottoman Civil Architecture. It has special columns with pedestal and enchanting windows ornamented with the stones. The wall of garden, stairs, balcony and inlaid railings placed in the corners of root cause the building see elegant and rich. There are found a pool with fountain and original stone pit or quarry in the garden. Also the ceilings of the mansion were made of wooden and they were decorated with the oil painting figures and diamond shaped botanic motives. Medallions containing landscape picture is placed in the corners of the building. Its bath section was furnished with the marvellous tiles which creates an authentic atmosphere.
The ground floor is used as the administrative offices; the first floor contains the section of ethnographic materials because there are found many different goods belonging to the Ottoman Era like guns, adornments, the authentic costumes for men and women. The second floor consists of long room, Pasha Room, daily room, bedroom and guestroom which symbolizes the characteristics mansion life. Today, this miraculous museum exhibits more than 3 thousand unique works such as ethnographic materials, coins, seals and manuscripts.
