In 17th century, as a result of the rebellion of Janizaries (Yeniceriler in Turkish) who were the brave warriors of Ottoman Empire, many Pashas’ and Viziers’ heads were cut by the order of Ottoman Sultan Murat IV due to their ignorance of duties.
Actually Sultan had to make it to protect his throne because the great soldiers, Janizaries want to kill those men. If they were executed, those soldiers would attack the palace. Finally the corpses of pity men were delivered them. They hung their bloody heads in the Vak vak tree of Topkapi Palace surrogated brilliant Hagia Sophia and dreamy Gulhane Park.
Since then, the case has been known as Vakay-i Vakvakiye Event because they were hung that tree named Vak Vak. Tree still exist in the Sultanahmet Area.
