ALADDIN MOSQUE
Famous Aladdin Mosque, the great masterpiece of Seljuk Period is the oldest and biggest mosque in Konya. It is located on the Aladdin Hill which has a meteoric landscape. Also it was built by grand architecture Mehmet bin Havlan in 1556 and completed during the reign of Seljuk Sultan Aladdin Keykubat I which reflects the people this glorious mosque was made for the sake of him.
RENOVATIONS
Moreover, the brilliant mosque was renovated within the certain periods; as a result of the archive records and the inscriptions of the mosque, it was figured out that this fascinating structure was fixed between 1889 and 1890, the time of Ottoman Sultan Abdulhamit II. Later, at the beginning of Republic Period and Second World War, the mosque was used as a storehouse and damaged after the earthquake hence, it was again repaired.

The mosque built according to the Islamic Style also includes some sections like 41 special columns belonging to the Byzantine (Rome) and Classic Era. Having irregular and distorted plan, this breath-taking masterpiece, valuable house of worship, contains wooden mimbar, mihrab furnished with faience mosaics and cupola. This perfect building which is covered by a flat roof situated on 62 columns is 86 m in width and 57 m in high.Except for those features, one of the most spectacular sections of the wonderful mosque is ‘’the north side’’ because this part consists of 21 little ravishing windows which creates a mystic atmosphere.
In addition that, it is possible the visitors to see the tombs of Sultans such as Mesut I, Kılıç Arslan, Rükneddin Suleiman II, Gıyaseddin Keyhüsref, Alaaddin Keykubad I and Gıyaseddin Keyhüsrev.
